Re: Omega 3 and Sleep
@plumster I am on night 3 of taking my krill oil with dinner and have slept great every night. Wow. I wonder why this works? I am not getting too excited though because it is not unusual for me to “honeymoon” with a sleep hack only to have it stop working in a week or so. Will keep my fingers crosse...

Re: Omega 3 and Sleep
@plumster this is such an interesting thread. I have been supplementing with Krill oil, do you think that would work for this sleep hack? I take mine half with breakfast and half with lunch but plan to try moving to dinner. Anything for good sleep!

Re: Resveratrol and Estrogen Therapy
Floramaria - my FM doctor got back to me on this and feels that as long as labs show optimal levels of estrogen then I should continue to take the resveratrol. She tells me that her resources did not show any unwanted “interaction” between resveratrol and BHRT (estrogen).

Re: Resveratrol and Estrogen Therapy
Pguyer807 have you read Ben Lynch's book "Dirty Genes"? He has a huge section on COMT and it is so well written and researched. He also covers some other common genetic SNPs (especially MTHFR). It is fascinating and I highly recommend it. One very interesting aspect of the book is his focu...

Re: Resveratrol and Estrogen Therapy
Plumster - I used to take DIM but my FM doctor advised I stop it when my last labs came back for low estrogen in spite of my BHRT. She upped the concentration in my Rx from 50 mg to 75, and told me to stop the DIM because it may have been lowering my levels. I was also taking resveratrol at the time...

Re: Resveratrol and Estrogen Therapy
Plumster thank you so much for that helpful information! I have slow COMT, so plan to immediately change my supplementation. It seems like an impossible task to stay abreast of all this information and do the right thing. There is just so much to know. I am constantly amazed at the resources this gr...

Re: Resveratrol and Estrogen Therapy
Hi Floramaria - I have also been doing some researching and it is not difficult to find information indicating that resveratrol has hormone-like properties and in fact some use it in LIEU of BHRT. Hmmm. I sent the information to my FM doctor for her input and will let you know what she sends back. I...

Re: Creatine increase in PCC in early AD
Creatine is often recommended for those with MTHFR defects as it is a large user of methyl donors. In this way supplementation preserves methyl groups for other uses. I have tried it with the result being wicked insomnia. Choline supplementation does the same thing to me. I am not sure why this is, ...

Resveratrol and Estrogen Therapy
I was just about to re-order my resveratrol supply when I noticed this warning on the product description: It is recommended to use resveratrol cautiously in patients with hormonal disorders and those using estrogen therapy, as resveratrol may act as either an estrogen agonist or estrogen antagonist...
