Re: 26 and 4/4
Hello, I am new here so I apologize if I break any site rules. I just recently found out that I am 4/4 and I am very scared. Finding out at this age gives me lots of time for prevention, right? Someone please offer me some advice - I feel as if I have rec'd a death sentence. Hi rara93, No need to a...

Re: South Florida MEETUP???
I live in Gainesville, FL and would travel for a meet up. Welcome @loradouglas! How great that you may be able to join a MeetUP in Southern Florida. Since you joined the site around a month ago, you have probably already heard about the wonderful resource of the Primer . If you haven’t read it, I e...

Re: Can we infer anything from a fatty acid profile test?
3/4 here. Got an Omega 3 index test a while back and it came with a fatty acid breakdown report. Is there anything we can infer from the results? Here's a macro breakdown of what I was eating around the time of the test. All carbs/sugar from whole milk, kefir and 2-3 egg yolks. [img]http://imgur.co...

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone
LOL, not quite a content state of bliss, but I feel good. :D The amazing stage was in the beginning (dang it!) but the benefits have been sustained. If you're currently taking thyroid medication, be ready to titrate down or stop as necessary. I began with a 1.5mg dose of LDN and wa also using a sma...

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone
Hi all! I figured it was about time to update you on my LDN experiment. I feel so much better. If you've ever seen Dr. Bredesen's talk where he describes our ApoE4 genotype, with it's RelA dominance, as being synonymous with North Korea (big guns at the ready) and the other APOE genotypes, with Sir...

Re: Xcode Life vs Promethease and other raw data analyzers
Jmac, I don't know about XCODE, but between Promethease and FoundMyFitness genetic analyzers, it's FoundMyFitness without a contest. Just my two cents... Take care. Hi Roamingseer, Thanks for offering your two cents, especially since you have done both Promethease and FoundMyFitness! As I have only...

Re: Smoothies? All in one shakes?
It is so important to read labels and to pay attention to the ingredients such as "natural flavoring", what does that mean? Here is an answer to your question that I pulled from an allergy website, where the writer was primarily warning that even natural flavors may contain allergens. You...

Re: Calling all Alzheimer's Activists!
What do the connected circles represent? LOL, nothing. It was a free logo generator and that was my only "brain" option. I just wanted to see what a logo for this idea could look like. Still in brain storming mode. I encourage anyone who has a name/logo idea to do the same and snap ...

Re: The 'selfish brain' is regulated by aquaporins and autophagy under nutrient deprivation
I am an APOE3/4 interested in fasting and keto, and have "lurked" APOE4.info for some time now. The background of this is I think there is merit to dry fasting (for Alzheimer or health in general), or at least "Intermittent drinking" as described in one of the posts above. Hi zc...
