Re: Possible root canal needed... Advice, please!

Of course, I tend to see things thru this sleep apnea lens, but I am convinced that many of my dental problems resulted from sleep apnea. First, if you snore, your mouth is open, drying saliva which protects from caries. Secondly, the bruxism (grinding your teeth) occurs when your oxygen levels drop...

Re: Possible root canal needed... Advice, please!

Cir, I feel for your dental dilemma, since I've been down that road too many times. Several friends suffered a perforation from an upper molar extraction, almost unavoidable given the proximity of the molar root to the sinus. One had plug inserted into the perforation and seem to experience more acu...

LB, great to see your usual provocative posts! Don't you feel you can alter your genetic course, or at least delay the onset? Plus, as Searcher notes amyloid plaques doesn't completely clinically correlate. I'm intrigued by plasmalogens contribution towards AD protection.

Re: Welcome!!!

Hi nc, We have a few others with the rare combo of 2/4 which has risks of Apoe4 modulated by the protective Apoe2. As a dentist, good oral care particularly the lack of periodontal disease or amalgam fillings bodes well. Out hygienist declared that my 3/4 mom (non-AD) on the cusp of 100, has unbelie...

Re: New to the list

Hi Lindy, I agree that your vitamin D could be higher. Are you supplementing vitaminD with K2? Do you have a APAP machine that you can immediately access your data? Waking up at night with your heart racing can be the adrenalin surge from hypoxia, so your data might reveal areas to tweak your machin...

Re: New research on other Genes in AD- ABCA7, FERMT2

This protective SNP was noted a few years ago so I emailed him last year as to any further updates, since I could not find more recent studies confirming this association. I might try again. Also, as an AA, I do seem to be statin resistant as to the cholesterol lowering. Orangeblossom, both my mom (...

Re: Possible root canal needed... Advice, please!

My dentist states that I do not have mercury despite crowns, implants and composite fillings. He added that Scandinavia outlawed mercury amalgams years ago. Wouldn’t it be interesting if they could correlate this PH intervention with AD?

Re: Possible root canal needed... Advice, please!

Cir, I have been using this product with less sensitivity and "amazing" (per my dental hygienist) stain removal. Since I stopped mouth wash and fluoride toothpaste (Thanks to Theresa), I think my normal mouth flora has returned. This product has charcoal which I would like to believe might...
