Re: New paper suggests that statins may be beneficial for E4 homozygotes

On the topic of cognitive issues, my belief, not only from speaking with neuroligists about it and my own experience is that those ...

Re: Prolon Diet Arrived

Guess it depends on your goals. Not sure Ive ever seen anything on recommendations on what your diet should be leading up to a FMD fast, to gain the benefits.

Re: Prolon Diet Arrived

My understanding from a FMD diet was this. Its roughly a (9% protein, 44% fat, 47% carb) diet. The low protein was to gain the autophagy & apoptosis benefits. Correct me if Im wrong here in my assumption, but the whole ketone analysis whilst on the diet, was more for observation than a true bene...

Re: Prolon Diet Arrived

Well the worst (Day 2 for most) is behind you. I lost 4lbs which is about right based on calories in/out. However 2 weeks later and Ive only gained 1 lb back so I need to eat more to prepare for my next round in a week as I cant afford to lose more.

No I didnt track ketones, but my glucose certainly did drop per normal. All I know is my body certainly didnt thrive on whatever ketones I did produce.

Re: Need Definitive Answer re Fasting/Coffee w/cream

Im a big coffee drinker with cream and just went black on the fast. My attitude was, if Im going to suffer this much, I didnt want to ruin it just because I wanted a small amount of cream. I found the black coffee a lot easier to do than the lack of food itself. If I didnt suffer from such a lack of...

Re: Prolon Diet Arrived

Just curious, what brand did you use for the green superfood? Is it something you use routinely anyway? Susan - no, it was added to simply make up some of the micro nutrients. Amazing Greens Super Food Here are the 2 websites I gathered the info from to come up with my own: https://www.quantifiedbo...

Re: Prolon Diet Arrived

Ok, let us know how! Or have you already posted about how to do it? I posted briefly here on my fast but did not include what I actually ate. But the ratios are there which I got after entering in my foods in cronometer. https://apoe4.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3249#p40919 I really pulled ...

Re: Prolon Diet Arrived

It can be done incredibly easier than the recipes if all you want are the macro/micro nutrients.
I did mine with avocados, sweet potato, cauliflower and some nuts. I added some scoops of green powder and that was it!

Re: Prolon Diet Arrived

I looked at this but figured it was pretty pricey for something that can be duplicated fairly easily.
But if ease and variety is important, then this is it.
