Re: Hello from Elihu, 4/4
Hi, Elihu. I just got here fairly recently myself. I like your attitude. I found out less than 24 hours ago that my suspicions were right, and that I am 3/4. It seemed pretty certain going in and I am lucky not to be getting it from both sides as you and so many of our friends here have. But you mak...

Got the test back -- 3/4 as expected
Since I've had a parent with Alzheimer's for quite a while now, and had (as noted above) already figured out that I wasn't getting all the sweet blood lipid results that the paleo crowd enjoys, I wasn't too surprised to get the Promethease report back with a 3/4 diagnosis. Actually it's good to have...

Re: Types of SFA's, blood lipids and E4's
This is exactly the kind of thing I've been wanting to read. Thank you. Richard, I'm pretty sure it was your experience that I was trying to mimic when I came up with my current plan. All very useful. Trying to stick close to the plan so at least I'll know what I'm comparing when the next test comes...

Re: The Bredesen protocol -- fasting three hours before bed
Also, thank you, Juliegee, the avocado at the end of the day makes a TON of sense. I'm shopping for MCT oil, too. I tried front-loading carbs and calories today and I'll see if I can get this to work for me over the next weeks. It is incredibly helpful to have generous people with similar demographi...

Re: The Bredesen protocol -- fasting three hours before bed
Hi, George, thanks. I was initiated into ketosis about a year and a half ago and lost a lot of weight, got very fit, enjoyed all the benefits people do from that, and thank goodness. My lipid profile was not so good, though, in the LDL-P department -- everything else great -- and then I learned abou...

Also, circular, that business with the BDNF sounds familiar. I'll look for that.

Re: The Bredesen protocol -- fasting three hours before bed
Thank you, friends. In a couple of weeks I'm going to have a follow-up lipids test -- not a full NMR, don't want to spend the money right now -- and if it's a bit better I'll add the coconut oil/butter before bedtime back into the mix. Julie, when do you take the MCT? Close to bedtime or three hours...

Re: Meal Timing and Frequency
May be an old post, but was very helpful to me this morning. I need to deal with this. I have the 12-hour window established, but if I'm working at home, I can still do a lot of grazing if I'm not careful.

The Bredesen protocol -- fasting three hours before bed
I'm starting to look over the Bredesen protocol (or preventive treatment plan) and am wondering if others have had trouble with the front end of the fasting. I regularly have about a 12 hour fast and can take it to 15 without much trouble if I'm out of the house. Occasionally I'll take it to 18, but...
