Re: statins and alzheimer's
David, thank you for sharing all this. I appreciate hearing it. I have a powerful gut reaction against any drug that seems to be playing the part of Holy Grail for the industry, a universal drug. My mother died a miserable death at 68 after six years of struggle, because she was prescribed a drug to...

Would you mind telling me exactly where to find "Stavia's excellent post" re: low-carb Mediterranean? I am following something similar now, and find that I put little stars next to Stavia's contributions almost every time I see one. (Not literally, but would if I could.)

Re: Psyllium
I put a response to this in the wrong place -- but I use psyllium, like it ok, but suspect that chia seeds (ground up in smoothies) suit me better. I alternate these days. Of course, they're more expensive and aren't just straight soluble fiber, but that's my inclination right now.

Re: New member intro -- Martha
One last thing for Rep on psyllium: totally subjective, but it seems to me that chia seeds (which I put through the coffee grinder and eat in smoothies and occasionally use to make pudding-type treats) may be a little more reliable and gut-friendly than psyllium. I am alternating them right now.

Re: New member intro -- Martha
Another question for Julie plus just a little bit of crowing over what feels like a meaningful improvement. First, as part of my tweaking after the high-borderline LDL-P numbers (getting close to 1600), I ditched the coconut butter and coconut oil. I wasn't actually eating much of the straight oil, ...

Re: New member intro -- Martha
Thanks, Julie. I've taken cheese off the table for the time being. Kind of a shame, but needs must.
