Re: Lower Brain Serotonin Levels Linked to Dementia
Tom, in his book what does dr. Bredesen specifically say about serotonin? It wasn't serotonin specifically. In his new book "antidepressants" are listed as potential associated risk factors. Not at the top of a list, and only a mention. I should recheck this - I'll teopen the e-book tomor...

Re: Bredesen's Book is available in BOOKSTORES and online!
I just finished the $14 e-book. It's all the information from Dr. Bredesen's recent articles, work with patients, and recent conferences in one place. That alone is worth the money. If you've read the studies, gone to the conferences, and are a regular reader at APOE4.info you will recognize most of...

Re: Anyone know which longevity compound worked in all worms?
Interesting. Reading these now. As you no doubt know ThioflavinT is used in labs as a dye to visualize plaques in brain samples and to measure AB aggregation in test tube experiments. I'm only familiar with it as a lab reagent, personally.

Re: Lower Brain Serotonin Levels Linked to Dementia
It makes sense to me that low serotonin in the brain (most serotonin is in the gut, of course) could build a path to AD. What I've wondered is: does this mean that SSRIs are helpful for keeping AD at bay? Just finished Bredesen's book this morning, and noticed one mention of anti-depressants perhaps...

Re: The Dynamic Brain Conference in LA this Summer
I was inspired by the IFM 2017 conference to write a short article to help newcomers learn the basics and connect to some of the literature. I noticed a number of primary care physicians, friends, and family members with outdated views on what Alzheimer's disease is and how to treat or prevent it. T...

Re: The Dynamic Brain Conference in LA this Summer
Thanks for including me in dinner! A great group of people. I thought the conference was outstanding. I'm a bit of an outsider, not a medical doctor, nutritionist, etc. But those talks were great. Lots of practical stuff to apply today, and hope from seeing smart people figuring it out. So much to l...

Here at the conference. And I found the Whole Foods first thing. It is a 15 minute walk. There is a small health food grocery and a regular grocery one block north by the CA State Board Law building.

Re: Alternating polyphenol supplements rather than combining
Hi Julie. I increased my consumption of tea, berries, and swapped diet soda for coffee. I occasionally eat dried seaweed - I try to convince myself it tastes good. Nothing too unusual. I did take tumeric supplements and resveratrol for short times, then studies came out casting doubt on both. I'd be...

Re: The Dynamic Brain Conference in LA this Summer
I'm arriving late the night before and will be counting on regular rounds of coffee and tea, followed by samples of Gundry's Reds and Kona Red juice to get through the morning.
I'll also be taking notes. Happy to share notes with those attending different sessions.
