Re: E4: why no urgent push for structure correctors, gene editting?

Seems to be more about raising levels would help, though rather than lowering. I'm not so sure. Hi Orangeblosson. I had the same question. But I was convinced by several of the recent studies that lowering apoe levels was the way to go.....they saw great improvement in all sort of markers by loweri...

Re: Is Red Wine OK?

There's also some more in the Wike section on alcohol and E4 too. It's a tricky one, I like a glass of red as well, and we are off to France soon to rub salt into the wound. I've tried de-alcoholised red wine but it tastes like red grape juice. I am presently compromising by having a small glass now...

Re: Help! I'm going under

I have not done the full fat dairy because I thought I read somewhere that it’s not good for APOE4s – but I could have that all wrong, as I’ve been trying to stuff my brain with information at the same time I’m stuffing my tummy. Tricky balance indeed when everything is so complex. Both Dr Bredesen...

Re: Help! I'm going under

I hesitate to post as I'm not in the same boat here. BMI is 27 and I'm also 5 ft 3. Dear Orange; At the risk of telling you something you already know, hip to waist ratio is considered a more accurate assessment of overweight than BMI. Muscular weight lifters will appear "obese" with BMI,...

Re: Anxiety Meds Won't Raise Seniors' Dementia Risk

I checked this meta study about the benzos. It seems they are linked but it is inconclusive. "Long-term benzodiazepine users have an increased risk of dementia compared with never users. However, findings from our study should be treated with caution due to limited studies and potential reverse...

Re: Help! I'm going under

I hesitate to post as I'm not in the same boat here. BMI is 27 and I'm also 5 ft 3. I mean I could possibly be losing a bit of weight, but I guess i'm not following anything as strictly as most people here. I'm not exactly sure whether that is a good or bad thing, but anyway. My bloods seem Ok on wh...

Re: CSF Ferritin predicts cognitive decline in E4s

Do you feel OK Circular? I felt quite faint when my irons stores were very low, even though it didn't show anaemia. I don't feel faint, but I'm definitely not yet as energetic as I feel I should be. I was really getting there until a freighterload of stress hit, so I'm sure that's affecting me. I s...
