Re: Aluminum as a causal factor of Alzheimer's - Introduction of myself to the community

Thanks for all the information in this thread. I have a question: are electric kettles completely out of the question? I am looking for a decent water-boiling device with an aluminum-free heating element. Happy to buy a stovetop kettle if needed. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know!

Re: Breakfast Suggestions

The other day I had some lightly-sautéed spinach and mushrooms with an avocado and organic chicken sausage. (I also had a banana, but I'm guessing this might be too sugary for a ReCODE-follower.)

Re: Vitamin A protects cognition in E4 carriers

Thanks Julie! Before reading this, I didn't know about my (several) decreased beta-carotene conversion SNPs. Time to load up on some Vitamin A-rich foods.

Re: First Blood Results: Very High Homocysteine

I'm relieved to report that after taking 1 mg methylcobalamin and 0.8 mg methyl-tetrahydrofolate for the past few months, my homocysteine has dropped from 18.9 umol/L to 5.8 umol/L. The testing conditions were slightly different: this time, only a ~12 hour fast, as opposed to the previous ~20 hour f...

Re: Dr. Rhonda: Get some DHA in phospholipid form

I googled Dr. Rhonda Patrick's supplement list 2018. Her list in January 2018 was available on fastlifehacks.com. Also, see Joe Rogan's podcast with her "Alzheimer's and Fish Oil Benefits." Thanks! More products to investigate. Here's the fastlifehacks URL: https://fastlifehacks.com/dr-rh...

Re: Dr. Rhonda: Get some DHA in phospholipid form

To get 1000 mg DHA from the Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Phospholipids, one would have to take ten soft gels, no? And there would be 950 mg EPA in that as well, which seems like a lot. I wish we had more options.

Re: Genetic Engineering and unknown consequences

The empirical evidence – the Fermi Paradox – suggests that at a certain level of development, civilizations may just end. (May – or they ALL become silent, which seems unlikely.) Whether they end after a massive increase in intelligence (the term singularity seems wrong to me) or not, I have no ide...

But I actually have to agree with you. Based on my (admittedly very limited) experience, I do prefer the North, even the weather. And the Internet agrees (I took a silly quiz):

Re: Genetic Engineering and unknown consequences

Rainbow, this I think refers to the paradigm of a broad philosophical movement called "extropianism", or a branch called "singularitarianism" Thanks Stavia! I realize that thinking in terms of singularities does not usually follow from the experiences of everyday existence: It c...

Re: Garlic Breath

"The paper’s authors now suggest, “Chewing mint leaves, and eating apple and lettuce (raw and cooked) will help reduce the garlic breath volatiles.” Thanks Carrie! I'll be giving these a shot. I wonder if drinking mint tea will have the same effect as chewing the leaves. I guess there's only o...
