Supplements help for a beginner UPDATED for MARCH - Comments? Suggestions?

Hope some can help me with my choices. My status is new to the protocol, extensive medical history of most of the conditions discussed by Dr. Bredesen in The End of Alzheimer's . NOTE: THESE ARE THE ONES I AM NO LONGER TAKING, just here for comparison. Previously I was taking B100-complex, just 2 fi...

Re: Moderate coffee consumption may lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease by up to 20 percent

My concern in that area would be that I think that any sweetener, even the zero calorie ones, can decrease sensitivity to insulin. You might want to do a little extra research on that. Just a factor to consider when you make your decision. And of course, I'm not a nutritionist, so perhaps someone w...

Re: Moderate coffee consumption may lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease by up to 20 percent

Thank you, Jan! I especially like finding out I have a proactive decision process. =) Yes, for me, caffeine is not worth it but thankfully I don't have to give up my decaf. I am about 4-5 grande size cups a day, half decaf and half tea, with the tea being various. I am working on no dairy in the dec...

Re: Moderate coffee consumption may lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease by up to 20 percent

I apologize, this may be a duplicate question. I have searched for it. Does decaf coffee potentially provide the same benefits or is there no research on this aspect? You can tell I need help reading the research! LOL My sensitivity to caffeine keeps me almost totally off it, unless I want the cloud...

Re: epsilon 33, 34, 44 - whatever- what difference does it make????

Yes, Whoa. Has this been resolved? Am I understanding this correctly? I have my kit here and have not yet registered or used it. Apoe4 status would be my primary reason for doing this. Should I get the money back and use someone else? These are old posts but rolled up under "unread" for me...

Re: anyone else with IBS?

...slowly sticking with it... You have defined my motto (poco a poco). I fear you will now have to suffer through seeing your wording posted over and over. =) I always learn something reading your posts and usually several things. You are a national, no, international, treasure and invaluable to us...

Re: ApoE4.Info on Evolving Past Alzheimer's Podcast

One of my watchwords is variability. I want my body to be flexible. Ah, Tincup, I did not know it until I read your post, but now I know that this is my goal. Thanks! =) Drae When you've achieved metabolic flexibility, it may no longer be necessary. Thanks for posting the link to the videos. I have...

Re: Wow! What a difference blue light filter glasses make on sleep!

So what's the consensus on wearing blue light blocking glasses all the time? My new optometrist is recommending them (there's not any extra cost). I'm torn. On one hand it doesn't seem prudent to block blue light ALL the time. On the other hand I seem to remember reading that cumulative blue light ...

Re: Alternate "Brain Training" ideas?

FWIW, Duolingo (always free) is a way better language learning method than Rosetta Stone which seems better at advertising. (That's from testing results but don't have a link.) However, Rosetta Stone is very visual (mostly pictures) while Duolingo is some pictures, mostly words. RS may work better i...

Re: Apoe4 Christmas gift!

Oh, Magda! You are my hero of the day! LOL One of my favorites is to occasionally enjoy home-canned pickled beets. Although, maybe I better go revisit that recipe checking for sugar, and switch to fresh beets. I have so much to learn but feel better almost every day now, probably mostly from sleepin...
