New study examining the effect of APOE-ε4 knowledge

I had my talk with Doris Zallen last weekend. Even though I have given much thought to genetic testing and its effect on me, I found it beneficial to answer her questions. It was a really good experience!

I spoke with Dr. Zallen last week and it was great. For privacy I took the call in the parking lot of one of my favorite open space hiking spots, then afterwards went for a long hike, mulling over what I had said and what she had said. Her kindness and compassion are palpable over the phone. I joked with her that it was like free therapy, but it really was! I'm glad I participated in the study.

Did mine Tuesday and also enjoyed the conversation. Although this group creates quite a selection bias in her data, I agree some of the most interesting findings may be differences between responses of people within this community versus others?

I know she's worked hard to try to balance out that bias. I'm not sure where else she may have found participants.
