Upcoming Us Against Alzheimer’s Talk

Post by Julie G »

This one looks good! Dr. Rudy Tanzi will share his work on the microbial hypothesis of Alzheimer’s disease and implications for drug development on Monday, October 17 @ 4PM EST. The microbial hypothesis postulates that microbial pathogens can rapidly induce amyloid plaque deposition as a defense mechanism of the brain’s innate immune system. Dr. Tanzi will also discuss what this hypothesis means for the etiology of Alzheimer's disease and implications for drug development. As a girl with an impaired innate immune system, I plan to listen ;).

As someone who's had herpetic (HSV-1) meningitis, I signed up too. Dr. Tanzi has that ability to explain complicated interactions is such an easily understood way. Thanks Julie!
