I get dibs on the bed with the firmest mattress for my back :-D, but my schedule makes it so hard to accommodate these trips, so I'll hold it for someone else if I can't make it.

Circ what schedule? You and your hubby can make it, plus the event should be a combo info trip and vacation... we all need chill time....

Floramaria great attitude.

For the time being my caregiving involves frequent, long trips that leave little time for any other type of travel :(

Sending my warmest Aloha from Oahu! Thank you for everyone's help.
A SPECIAL MAHALO to Sara for asking the question on my behalf.
I spoke with Dr. Johnson today -- she's unpacking and looking to open her office in a couple weeks. I'm hoping to grab an appt before the end of September. Big Island here I come!
PS A conference in paradise sounds perfect! I have a small condo and comfortable couch 1/4 mile off Waikiki.

Sorry I'd seen you asked that elsewhere and then lost track of it. Well I actually haven't gotten a new one, but I got religious about using the substandard Honeywells I have from Target. At least they help some because the filters get good and dirty. I have a recurring reminder in my calendar to make sure I change the filters, and I keep them on hand. Without that I just end up with air purifiers sitting there in my home not doing anything. So it's a step forward.

The one I wanted (I'd have to look at the old thread to see what it was, I think the one you recommended) was very expensive so I kicked it into the future. I've been thinking that when I can get around to replacing the carpets I may wrap the cost in, because I'm not looking forward to new carpet toxins either. Unfortunately it has to be carpet unless a ship is unexpectedly coming in.

I believe Nicole Gesik, DO, is trained in the Bredesen Protocol. I've found her to be a highly skilled functional medicine doctor. She practices with IMUA Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in Honolulu, Hawaii (main island of Oahu).

I'm new to this site, so apologies if this is old information.

Welcome, KindPerson!

You are indeed a kind person to have shared the information about Nicole Kukio Gesik, D.O. You are correct that she is trained in the Bredesen protocol, specifically the Institute for Functional Medicine's Reversing Cognitive Decline course.

I've entered her information in our wiki section on ApoE4-Aware Healthcare Practitioners, here:
Dr. Nicole Gesik

Feel free to browse our site and share your experiences, Kind Person. Here's a link to the How-To wiki, that lets you quickly find how to quote members so they see your post, how to search, how to use the wiki's many great resources, and how to find unread posts.

Aloha from someone for whom Hawai'i is still a bucket-list goal.
4/4 and still an optimist!
