Good to know - thanks Tincup! Is it important to put it under the tongue, or okay to just swallow it down?

I just swallow it. I'm not aware of anyone holding it under their tongue.

{edit} My wife says she puts it under her tongue, but wasn't directed to do so, she just does that.

I am not very tolerant of the fish taste so I put the oil in a gelcap and swallow

Have any of the Board members taken the Prodrome Neuro for an extended period after these posts, if so what are the results. I wrote to Prodrome asking what was the expected Plasmalogen yield from a bottle. The answer was 900 mgs, ie all the Prodrome oil, was converted to plasmalogens. NeuroRegain from Japan yields just 1 mg ethanolamine plasmalogen per two capsules and the Japanese scientists behind the oil are convinced that the capsules work well. Goodenowe believes you need a large dose of plasmalogens per day and yet in one of his articles he admits that NeuroRegain seems to work. Very confusing dosage regime.

I was part of the initial group that started taking the Prodrome Plasmalogen oil and have been taking it ever since. Results in me have been subtle, if any, (same with ketone levels) but others I know (not board members) have cited notable, positive, even immediate results. But I’m not going to stop taking the oil, I feel I am still gaining benefit. We (my 3/4 husband and I) first told our doctor, Dr Steven Gundry, about Plasmalogen during our consult a year ago. He obviously did some research and is supportive of plasmalogen as he was the one who brought the subject of Plasmalogen up during our most recent consult.

With the consult we just held, we had new tests for food sensitivities and we both discovered we react negatively to eggs – whites and yolks. So we asked what he recommended for choline supplementation, and he dismissed the need for choline supplementation in favor of plasmalogen citing that many of his patients who are taking choline supplements have very high TMAO levels. He said, "I think the precursors of plasmalogens will be far more important for you than just about anything else."

I take a dropper full every day, as recommended.

That was true for me. I tested before removing choline supplement and after. TMAO came down into the normal range when I stopped choline supplementation.

Hi everyone,

I am curious if those of you who are taking Prodrome-neuro also take DHA from other sources, ie. fish or algal oil. I am taking the plasmalogen currently, and I remember that in one of Dr. Goodnowe's presentations, he states that no other plasmalogen source is needed. However, I am trying to raise my Omega3 index from tests results: last spring it was 8.4 and November it was 10.1. So my strategy has been to take BOTH the plasmalogen oil and high DHA fish oil (with separate meals). Is this sound or am I perhaps undermining/diluting the benefit of the plasmalogen oil by a high intake of DHA?

Thanks for any insights you might share!

We talked to Dayan about this. He was worried about thinning the blood too much. But adding others is OK. I take from a variety of sources. My Omega 3 index in Dec was 10.46 on Omega Quant and 12.58 on Vibrant (taken within a few days of each other...). Prior to taking the Prodrome, in Nov 2019, I was around 17 on the index. That was clearly too high as my arms looked like a person on warfarin (blood thinner) with high out of range INR (blood too thin). I rock climb and had bruises everywhere. I backed off that.

Hi Theresa, did you get tested ( ProdromeScan) before you started supplementing with the plasmalogens or did you and those of you in the beta group just take the dropper full everyday? I am curious because I bought ProdromeNeuro after listening to several lectures by Dr Goodenowe and being given the chance to get it on sale. I am planning to wait until after getting tested to see my levels. Are you monitoring your levels? I was hoping maybe my lows trigs and high HDL might mean mine are already in the safe zone. Option #2, I was part of the beta group just taking a dropper full every day. I too, have a good HDL to LDL ratio, and as I posted earlier, any effects from the oil were subtle. But largely because of what Dr Goodenowe said about ApoE4s Dayan Goodenowe, PhD: Plasmalogens & Neurological Health and now reinforced by my own doctor's (Dr Gundry), unsolicited endorsement of plasmalogens, I'm sticking with the plasmalogen.
