Ron, thanks a MILLION for posting this. I've been on a campaign to dispel the myth that a diagnosis of Alzheimer's is a death sentence. Dr. Bredesen has already helped dispel that to some extent, but this woman is a total genius!

I sent it to my niece who has worked with dementia patients for many years, hoping she will change her mind that "nothing can be done." And I sent it to a Seattle Times columnist in hope he will help publicize it. Also will send to Brenda Charles-Edwards, an internet-radio-show host of Seniors Matter and a Dementia Friends Champion. In an AARP article for WA readers, she is quoted as saying, "It is not yet preventable." Oh, and I sent it my PC, one of the thousands of M.D.s who maintain it can't be helped. Well, thanks to Dr. Bredesen it can and we all need to shout that out. It isn't a huge stretch to say it might prevent some suicides.
