This study may be a bit much for people, but I think it's interesting. They basically took 'runner mice', extracted their plasma, and injected it into sedentary controls. They determined 'runner plasma' (RP) and key constituents including Clusterin (apoj) to be a factors in inhibiting neuroinflammation, stimulating neurogenesis, and improving memory.
Injections were done every 3 days.
They did a second part of the study where they were trying to identify the component of the RP that was leading to this anti-inflammatory behavior. So they selectively depleted key constituents of the RP by removing targeted components. The one that appears to have the largest impact is Clusterin, which is associated with Alzheimer's and known to enriched in healthy people, reduced in diabetics, having a role in Abeta aggregation, etc.
