Cook Ware?

Post by Richard McG »

Hi Friends;

Just looking for some recommendations on what cookware you use? Any recommendations for ceramic and/steel cookware that are safe for us? Brands? They all seem to have non-stick applications to them :(

Preferably also something that I can clean relatively clean. :)

Thanks so much!

Kinda bummed no one has responded, I'd like to know too.

FYI, I understand stainless steel is safe, as for a brand?????

I remember that there have been previous discussions of cookware. You can find them by using the search function. (magnifying glass) I don’t have time right now to go through all the results of the search. Some of the posts just mention cookware in passing, but there are also threads that are more focused on the topic.
Here is one excerpt from a reply that could be helpful from a post in Jan 2019:

Funny enough Dr Gundry just released a new video on this topic. His go to is stainless steel but he said ceramic and enamel coated are OK.
The post included a link for a video, but that link did not seem to work.

Thought I'd add this recently published article on cook ware for those interested.

I've been using Corningware pots for about 2-3 years now to cook with and am pretty satisfied (the Visions set mentioned in the article cited by TheresaB is Corningware). Except for the fact that the glassware has no spout in the side for pouring, but that's trivial.

I got tired of trying to lift the cast iron Le Creuset pots with my arthritic hands, and these work well. I also just cook directly using Corelle plates in a stovetop oven (also Corning ware).

I kept seeing articles that said stainless steel did shed metals into your food. I do use a stainless steel Instapot with a SS steamer basket for my veggies, but no friction involved.
