"..(ReCODE) Study" Clinical Trial: Results?

Post by mala »

The "Reversal of Cognitive Decline (ReCODE) Study" Clinical Trial by Ann Hathaway etc was due to report 30 Dec 2020. 30 participants.
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03883633
Im keen to see the results and wonder if anyone knows if they are out, where they can be seen, or when & where this may occur?

Thanks!

Hi mala! Pre-publication results will be be made available sometime early in 2021. It will take longer for the official paper(s) to be written. You can sign up to be notified when early results are available at: trialresults@ahnphealth.com

The last patients finished in our clinical trial in early December. 25 patients completed the nine month trial.

We are now working hard on analyzing all of the data.

We have some great data to share!

in the transcript of the new April 21, 2021 podcast, Dr Mark Hayman with Prof Bredesen,
https://drhyman.com/blog/category/podcasts/
Dale says: "We are in the midst, I should say, of the first trial in history in which we look at all the different contributors for each person and address all these different things. We will be finished with that in December".
Im thinking this is the same ReCODE clinical trial? Are the pre-publication results still "early in 2021"?

Ive been dying for the results as it will significantly help protocol implementation here if the local physician can be convinced. Which seems to require more rigorous scientific paper(s) than the books and published clinical data papers.
Or maybe the podcast was recorded late in 2020 and has only just been published?

@Mala
Thanks so much for your interest. We are dying to share our fantastic results with you!

We are in final data analysis now, and hope to publish preliminary results in the next couple of weeks on https://www.biorxiv.org/.

And then we will submit to a major journal for publication.

I will put a post here when the data is ready to share.

Congratulations, kattoups! This is the first time, to my knowledge, that a clinical trial has been able to demonstrate reversal of early Alzheimer's disease. This accomplishment is even more admirable considering the circumstances that participants faced with the stress of COVID. I know many clinical trials have stopped recruitment and/or halted studies altogether during this same period. From the paper: 84% of people improved, 4% stayed the same and 12% declined. This can be juxtaposed against certain progression with no treatment and 33% slowed decline (no improvement) with a pharmaceutical like Donenemab. I'm curious abut those that failed to show improvement and would like to learn more. Thoughts, kat?

Well done to everyone involved.

I'd love to see a lot more details & data: test marker results & observations per individual, at the start & the end. Each person's main suspect factors, & then how much they improved.
Exercise, both aerobic and strength training, was encouraged for at least 45 minutes per day, at least six days per week, and facilitated by the personal trainers. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) was recommended a minimum of twice per week
- from my point of view, that's a hell of a lot of exercise!

- I feel for the few who declined. Wondering if its compliance, or the yet-unresolved mysteries..
