Curcumin Article
Re: Curcumin Article
Yikes! I'm rather reassured that this is just a mouse study, and I try to discipline myself to follow the numbers, which don't generally support continuation of mouse study results in large, well designed human clinical trials, by a long shot. At the same time, it would be nice to have an excuse not to pay for and take one of my supplements. Or, do we want curcumin to assist amyloid in its work against pathogen invaders of the brain?MoJoe wrote:Another interesting article that has just been published, available free from https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl ... -63538.pdf

I've always thought curcumin was one of my "safe" supplements, but now I'm not so sure, blindsided as usual by the complex systems that govern everything in our bodies.

I have now ha! I've never seen that kind of thing published before. I'm none the wiser though. It's too complicated for me in an area I don't know anything about. I'm open to your thoughts MoJoe.MoJoe wrote:Did you read the reviewers comments towards the end of the article.

Re: Curcumin Article
Let me do some digging. It seems only a subset of people have this reaction to curcumin, mostly curcumin has only positive results and has a wide range of beneficial effects to all manner of autoimmune diseases. The article is disappointing to me as we use curcumin extensively in our supplements. We don't just add the curcumin to our other ingredient we complex the curcumin to the marine phospholipids, rich in DHA, and while it (the complex) is reversible it is a devils own job "uncomplexing" them. Curcumin is used with our ethanolamine plasmalogens to aid the effect on the negative cognitive aspects of A.D.
To set the record straight I am not advertising on this site and will not supply anyone on this forum without the full support of those who set the rules on this site and under whatever conditions they chose to impose. I joined here to learn from those who are actively seeking a solution to a disease that may overtake them. It is a constant setback when we offer friends / acquaintances who are caregivers to those with A.D. and the sufferer (with A.D.) will not take the capsules believing there is nothing wrong with them. There is no easy solution.
