Stabilizing existing and reducing new plaque deposition does. If you are asymptomatic, you don't really need the stent. In his talks, he said he had ~93 patients with coronary calcium scores over 1,000 and stable. One of those patients just posted on another site that his score was ~1100 but his annual increase was 2 or 3 %.
Ahh, that puts things in perspective then.

Ski, I'm impressed with Dr. Blanchett's approach. It seems to me to be a "light" touch. Starting with things (from memory, may not be complete, follow link above for more details) like low glycemic diet, exercise, colored berries & veggies, sleep apnea, addition of DHA/EPA with the last of the list being low dose statins. He said 90% of his patients are stable and he's working on the other 10%.

K, although I'm assuming that the Cedar's scanner is the ultra-low dose, I could not find this noted on the link. Do you know?

Thanks for the tip. This is local, and I have been paying $350. The $350 includes the physician consult, but I don't need that anymore. The $185 is for sending the results to your physician rather than getting a consult onsite.

Hba1c 4.9. Very happy. IR conquered.
B12 700ish
TSH 1.2 (Bredesen target <2)

But but but
Homocysteine 10ish. Grrr. Am taking non methylated thingies as I don't have the major MTHRF mutations. About to order methylated thingies from iHerb and will start slowly. As per Bredesen will consider betaine in 3 months but I am very aware of Ski's foggy brain reaction to it.
Only took a month of the methylated thingies as per Bredesen and homocysteine already 7.3. Woot. One third reduction. Happy dance.
I think its good enough for now. I'll recheck in three months to see if it's dropped futher but if it hasn't I am still worried about the reaction Ski had to the betaine. I am so sensitive to brain thingies. So if it hasn't dropped more I might just stay with 7.
What do you think team?

So glad to see the drop. I've been stuck at 8 with high B's and betaine, so don't know if you'd gain much more with betaine. Probably depends on other parts of your methylation pathway and whether you really need to nudge them with betaine.

Will be interesting at my next draw because I've really cut back the B's and stopped betaine. Too much brain frazzle. I think I've tracked it to the VSL#3 probiotic and more gut healing. Just don't think I need as much as I used to...oh well, labs will tell.

Congrats, Stavia! I'm stuck at 7.3 at last check as well. I just donated 14 tubes  to Muses Labs today...so I'll be able to see if my number has changed. I've recently switched from injecting methylcobalamin weekly to 1 mg oral sublingual.

For those who report cognitive change with B vitamins; are you taking methylated versions? I've looked into this a little and think that unless you have known MTHFR mutations or very elevated homocysteine, the non-methylated versions may be better... It's kind of like putting premium gas into a VW. It may not be warranted or helpful

Yes I am taking the methylated ones and the fancy b6 at Bredesens doses-ish. Methylated folate 5MTHF 1mg (couldnt find the 0.8mg), methylcobalamin (methylated B12) 1000mcg and P5P (fancy B6) 33.8mg (its the Thornes and I chose it cos its gelatine free) My homocysteine didnt budge on folic acid 5mg, cyanocobalamin 1mg and ordinary b6 20mg. I dont have the three major methylation defects so I thought the latter would be ok as I totally agree with you but they didnt work at all. Not a clue why, methylation is too complex for me to want to delve into it.
