Yay on your improvements, Stavia! I completely agree re. the necessity of "high" vs. "low" fat. The dichotomous categorization was just a rough way to b-e-g-i-n to categorize evidence. (I'd be thrilled if folks would add to these threads... Hint, hint )
I also like that your diet (combined with CR and exercise) leads to very mild ketosis that may address our reduced cerebral glucose metabolism- evidence of our mitochondrial impairment.

Congratulations, Stavia! My guess is that it's the lower BMI that's driving most of the positive changes.
We need more head-to-head studies of low-fat weight loss–inducing (or weight-stable) diets vs. high-fat weight loss–inducing diets! I might try this at some point, just a single case study, but I love my current diet so much it will be tough to give it up, even for a few weeks!
