Update on my ongoing cancer evaluation...

Postby circular » Wed Mar 02, 2016 2:32 pm

This is a canned message I texted and emailed to friends:

Basically nothing has changed. She’s viewed the ultrasound images and can’t tell whether it’s cancer or not until the biopsy. She said if she thought it was cancer, or could tell it wasn’t, that she would tell me. I get a higher resolution ultrasound tomorrow at the U. Meet with anesthesiology. Lung Xray. Surgery tentatively scheduled for Tues March 8 pending insurance hopping on the pre-authorization. I called them to change its status to urgent. They better approve it because the next available is March 15. So tired and going to bed for rest after lunch. Need to talk to my parents soon. Lots of heart palpitations lately from the stress. EKG today was 'borderline' (the tech said), whatever that means. BP was 131/7? … way high for me.

Thanks, hopefully I won't get an update on tomorrow's ultrasound. She indicated only if it looked a lot more like cancer than not; ie to tell me to be prepared for more extensive surgery. The clinical data so far has even this expert on the fence.

Thanks, I don't remember a time I've been as stressed as I am today. Surgery date either Tues at noon without eating since 4 pm the day before, or wait another week and get in at 7:30 am. Maybe they will move my last food to 8:30 pm if I have surgery at noon. Will ask in the am.

Best Wishes, circ.
You've laughed at my jokes, so that puts you in my good books!
Just think, at least it's not Alzheimer's! Hope that helps.

This might also help. Minicells dosed 1 million times lower than traditional chemo have shown some
interesting clinical results. The only dose limiting effect was due to the use of gram negative bacteria for the minicells,
this would not arise if gram positive minicells were used. Curative responses were see in the mouse models when
dosage was raised just above current human dosing.
