I can't work out my APOE results

Post by TerryG »

Hi, could someone please help me work out what my APOE result is - I've attached 2 screenshots from 23andMe raw data. Am I 3/4 or 2/4?

with thanks,

hi Terry and welcome.
I can't work it out either.
You could unlock your health report on 23andme or run it through Promethease.

Unless another member knows?

It's 3/3. Look up GS246 on snpedia.

Hi Terry and welcome to our site! I see Matisse has already pointed out your info indicates you're 3/3. Quote below is copied from SNPedia

Thanks Sylvie - I have been reading through the primer - it's helpful, but at times confusing as I slowly learn the lingo in this world. I'll keep posting my questions!

cheers,
Terry

One further question...

I seem to be a bit slow on the uptake - I don't understand how I am 3/3 with the result I have. - I've attached another screen shot of the Stirling app 'translation' of the 23andme raw data.

Is it by default as I'm -/- for both those snp's?

thank you, Terry
