DianeSC, the latest I have heard is "We anticipate going live late next week with www.recodereport.com for patients searching trained practitioners in The Bredesen Protocol nearest them." (Which would put it roughly at the very end of September,)

(This was in an email I received day before yesterday, as a result of attending the Dallas September Bredesen Training - as a health coach, not a practitioner).

I know they recognize the urgency of getting the referral system going.

FWIW, I completely agree with Stavia's assessment of Dr. Ross. She is one of few specialists trained to treat CIRS/Type-3 Alzheimer's. For those who are unfamiliar, you can learn more in this thread. Dr. Ross may be bringing on other, more frontline, Bredesen trained practitioners to her LA office, hence the recommendation from MPI Cognition. Let me check and report back. Diane, I also reached out to them on your behalf and got the same response you did. I know they're working hard behind the scenes to get their business up and running. I also understand the frustration and desperation that so many are experiencing. Many of us are following the advice in the Primer and simply working with any helpful physicians to track and tweak biomarkers and follow strategies outlined here. Additionally, depending on where you live, you may be able to order many of the tests recommended by Dr. Bredesen yourself via online laboratory testing.

Currently, Dr Ross sees the spectrum of cognitive states, from prevention to profoundly cognitive impairment with CIRS/Type-3 Alzheimer's. I personally see her for prevention to subjective cognitive decline (my husband notes no change in cognition in me - what does THAT tell you ), and had established with her prior to my diagnosis of CIRS. I've also taken the liberty of contacting her office, and she plans to see all comers when her Los Angeles office opens, not just CIRS cases. Dr Bredesen notes in his book that most people have several underlying conditions that are driving their cognitive loss, so in a way it does make sense to have one provider rather than 2+ if CIRS is one of those underlying conditions. And it seems that Dr B is seeing more and more folks with type 3 contributing.

I have no comment on the cost of services, with no way of comparing what other functional medicine practitioners are charging. I can tell you that Dr Shoemaker, the CIRS guru in the US, charges $8 per minute for a phone consult, but since he is no longer licensed to practice medicine, can not actively manage anyone's care.

I have not been paid to post this entry... And also believe that Dr Gundry is an excellent choice for ApoE4s without cognitive decline.

Jan and Julie G, thanks for the info! I was able to see the website for recodereport.com a couple of days ago, but couldn't search for a practitioner without paying. So happy to hear that this is coming soon!
