Hello to all.
We are glad to have found this excellent site. Thank you to all contributors willing to help.
We have read the Primer and the various good advice how to use the site.
My husband is 63 and has had PPMS for 28 yrs. and recently we found out, he is 3/4.
We live in Denmark, Europe but also spend 3 months a year in sunny Tenerife, Spain.
We do IF minimum 16:8 daily and can easily go in and out of ketosis since 3-4 years. My husband, Torben, would like to stay in ketosis longer, but he looses too much weight despite adding plenty healthy fats. Now with 3/4 diagnosis, it is more difficult as too much fat is not recommended, as I understand it?!
We have Bredesens book: End of Alzheimer, David Perlmutters book: Grain Brain, Steven Gundry: The plant Paradox, Amy Myers: The Thyroid Connection, Terry Wahls: The Wahls Protocol, and we follow many good presentations from: Zack Bush, Stephen Phinney, Jeff Volek, Valter Longo, Jason Fung, Ivor Cummings, Peter Attia. Just to give you an idea of our situation and layman knowledge.
Torben just had blood works done, and his Hcy is 9,3 and B12 873.
This brings us to our......
Q1:
According to Bredesen, if Hcy is above 6 (some places 7?) he should now take a mix of Bs to lower Hcy, but is that still the case with a B12 of 873, which is above the 500 quoted?
Q2:
In Bredesens book he quotes various Copper:Zinc ration - from "1,3:1" to "1:3" - big diff.? and levels of 100 mcg/dL mentioned. Which is recommended here?
Q3:
We have used a lab in Berlin, as many specialized tests cannot be done through our own practitioner, but we get confused by the results, because they differ from the quotes in Bredesens book. His MERCURY is 1,7 mcg/L and they say it is above 50% in the red, but Bredesen says <5 mcg/L, which indicates it is OK?
Q4:
His LEAD is 22,4 mcg/L and they indicate it is within "green normal" limit, but Bredesen says <2 mcg/dL (=20mcg/L) - which is then too high! Again a discrepancy that we seem to find again and again.
To get the labs done, we have a Swiss based doctor helping us, but he is not of much help, as I recently had to convince him to also test Hcy, which he has not been focused on up till now.
Q5:
We want to purchase the best quality active Bs - but where to buy them? Any suggestions?
(Buy the way, we do have contacts in both Italy and Canada, to have a mix of wanted vitamins mixed in one capsule - but not sure if this is in fact a good idea, as you then cannot change the individual amount, if needed)
Q6:
Does anyone have a list of which blood tests should be RBC? And which markers best to test in urine?

Final remarks:
- Thanks for quoting both US and International unit. This rarely happens and even in Bredesens book, many places none are given at all.
- I feel like Sherlock Holmes, having to investigate all os this. It is very interesting, but also very time consuming. I am fortunate, that I can do this full-time while caring for my husband.
- My husband is experiencing small memory problems, which bothers him a great deal. He is the brightest person, I have ever met, and known to know everything. So he is very eager to get going with the protocol. He should probably do a baseline test.
Thank you for any help.
