If you want to notify one or more users without actually quoting them, you can do it by adding empty quotes at the end of your post. For example:

Code: Select all

produces
BobG wrote:
MaryS wrote:
LarryZ wrote:
and will notify BobG, MaryS, and LarryZ.

Now if only I had a Like button to like this! ;) I know at least one bulletin board software allows readers to "thank" the poster for a post, but I'm guessing that's not in ours either. No worries, everything looks and runs great here. (Don't mean to sound ungrateful. Happy for all that our hardworking volunteers manage to accomplish!)
ApoE 3/4 > Thanks in advance for any responses made to my posts.

I'm with you on the Like button, circular - would be a great feature to have.

Thanks, Marc, we’ll add this to the How-To. Great tip!

NF52, If you do create a how to section in the WiKi, please include the info on how to select only part of the message to quote. It wasn't Until a recent post, which was by Teresa, i believe, that I learned how to do that. What a great tip. For almost a year, I have been clicking quote in upper corner of the posting, and then deleting all the sections I didn’t want to quote.
Quite laborious on my iPad, where my fingertips made precision editing difficult.
I'm not sure there is a less brute force way. Much easier with a mouse.

If there is a contest of who is the least technologically savvy person on this website....I would definitely win! Reading tips of this post is like reading dialogue from another planet. Just thought I would put it out there that a Wiki section is much needed in beginner language for some of us. Sucks when you grew up with a typewriter or ink pen for communication. I bought my first Apple in this century. Teehee
