From your reading, Brian, what do you think will have the greatest impact in this budget?
Thank you!

Well. My first inclination is to say that I'm clueless. But that's not really true, since we see many clues popping up in the research studies as well as the successes that Dr. Bredeson and others create. However, I don't believe I can say that I believe that any of these clues will necessarily provide a general solution path.

I think the greatest impact comes from focusing more attention on this area, and believing that dementia is a solvable problem, given a disciplined and comprehensive program of research. Using the Cynefin framework from my software days, I hope that those with a much better understanding of the issues are carving off appropriate research chunks which are complicated, but tractable. Thus, we can move overall knowledge forward until scientists can create solutions which can be given to humans and, in vivo, reliably prevent/roll back dementia in most cases.
