I'm a little over a week in with new split dvorak keyboard.
I figure this is somewhere in the realm of learning a new language, at least as far as your hands' muscle memory goes. If you're looking to wreck your typing for a month, I highly suggest the challenge.

Omg.
You remind me of my older son. Always up to a challenge to learn new things.

Wow! Does learning to juggle count? (Not for wrecking your typing but for learning something new.)

Improved ergonomics for lots of typing. It was a toss up between dvorak and colemak.slacker wrote:Okaaaayyy - what was(were) your original motivation(s)? Other than challenge...

So, anyway, besides my son learned and I always wanted to...
juggling grows more brain cells
'Course, I am not at all sure what kind of brain cells it chooses to grow.

Wow, very cool article Drae. I'm going to have to put "Learn to juggle" on my bucket list.drae wrote:So, anyway, besides my son learned and I always wanted to...

When I was a kid, we used to play "footbag" ... it's sort of like juggling, but you just have to keep one ball in the air and you can't use your hands (which I suppose isn't like juggling at all.) It's actually a decent aerobic workout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMr5e5wlgeE

Very cool, apod. I think that hacky sack? thing has to be harder than juggling. Too much for me.
I decided years ago I wanted to learn banjo. Then, decided I would have to wait for heaven to get that one. Now I am thinking, why not?
My other one is, when I get a piano or keyboard again, to learn to play by ear. I can sight read music okay but playing by ear would be fun and I think a good challenge.
In the meantime, today, I saw a poster begging for residents to join a community chorus. Why not?
LOL See what juggling hath wrought? Thanks for making me laugh.
