In light of this statement, is the best testing coming from 23andme? Thanks!
23andMe is good, but you need to get Health, not just Ancestry level.
The data are in the 23andMe Ancestry level (vs the product provided by the Ancestry company. You just have to go to the SNP's in the raw data (available at the A23andMe Ancestry level) and interpret yourself or run the file through a 3rd party program like Promethease to do the interpretation for you. IMO you don't need to spend the extra money to have 23andMe interpret for you (their Health level).
I got tested in 2014, when the FDA had enjoined 23andMe from providing any interpretation. However the raw data were available and still are.
