I would recommend Dr. Char Glenn. She takes a functional medicine approach and has specialized training and experience with ApoE-ε4 and cognitive decline. I have direct experience with her as she treats my father and wife, and I attend the appointments. I find her to be knowledgeable, flexible, and an effective communicator.

I began working with her two years ago, in the fall of 2015. At that time she was closing her established primary care practice in order to focus on complex cases. Perhaps because of her roots in primary care, she seems to me to offer more affordable service than other FM specialists. She was the only FM doctor I found who was willing to accept my father's Medicare. She accepted my wife's PPO insurance in 2016. Since switching to an HMO in 2017, we have paid out of pocket, and the charges seem reasonable to me.

Thank you MarcR for the recommendation of Dr. Char Glenn in Portland. Do you know if she takes supplemental insurance, i.e., Providence as well as Medicare?

MarcR, I think you were one who put some info on about accessing Promethease? I have my 23 and Me report and saved it in my documents. I have logged on Promethease but haven't been able to put in my email and a credit card to get a report from them. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you again for the referral to Dr. Glenn. I am looking forward to seeing her this weekend to get some further direction on how andwhere to go further on the ReCode w supplements, etc.

Sure, they have a support address info@promethease.com. I suggest that you include screen shots in your email of the errors you are receiving to help them understand where things are going astray.

Hi Marta,
I am considering asking Dr. Glenn to be my ReCODE practitioner, although it would be a long drive for me. You say that you saw her this week-end. I am curious about how it went. I feel odd "talking" about her! I would send you a private message, but I don't see how to do it inside this forum. Thank you.

Hello ncrocker: I may not be the most tech savvie person here on the site but having just seen your message I wanted to see if I could help you out. If you go to the top of the web page over on the right hand side you'll see an envelope. If you click on that you'll be given the option to send a PM. All you need to do is insert the name of the member and a title, create the content of your message and hit send. Hopefully that does the trick for you!

Best,

Dr. Glenn's patients,

I tried a couple of numbers and they are disconnected. I notice she is now 75 years old. Is Dr. Glenn still practicing?
