Introducing Practitioner Reviews

Friends, I need your help. We’d like to create our own robust list of APOE4-aware healthcare practitioners based upon our members’ interactions. PLEASE, share information about your physician, physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, health coach, nutritionist, etc., anyone who’s been helpful on your journey. Be aware that these professionals need not be Bredesen-trained. Many of our members have very helpful healthcare providers who also focus on cognitive health and are generally helpful in ordering any necessary testing. You are welcome to post their names, contact information, and any pertinent details. We also invite you to share unhelpful experiences with specific details to help guide other members. As always, our Community Guidelines apply when posting, paying careful attention to maintain a courteous and professional tone.

In order to make this forum as useful as possible, we would like to follow a couple of rules:
  • One topic per practitioner and one practitioner per post. If someone has already reviewed your practitioner, please add your review as a reply to the existing topic.
  • Consistent topic subject. Format is Professional name / Location / Specialty.
Within each practitioner topic, each post does not need to be a review. We encourage questions, answers, and discussion within the topics. New topics which are not devoted to the review of a single practitioner will be moved to another forum.

We have many new members who’ve come to our website specifically to find Bredesen-trained practitioners. Because we have no affiliation with MPI Cognition, who manage Bredesen credentialing, we strongly encourage these folks to contact the company directly to ensure they are receiving the latest information: website: http://www.drbredesen.com, email: info@drbredesen.com , phone: (800) 450-0805.

Practitioners: If you’d like to directly advertise your services, please feel free to post your information in the APOE4-Aware Healthcare Practitioner list on our wiki that you can access here. If you need help posting your listing, please email your information to practitioner-list@apoe4.info and we’ll add it for you. Be aware that the strongest recommendations come directly from our members. If you’re working with one of us, please ask that member to write a recommendation here. We ask you to refrain from posting your services here, but feel free to comment if a member reviews you.

*ApoE4.Info is providing this list for informational purposes. We (management) have no direct knowledge of these practitioners and are not endorsing them. For fuller legal context, check out our Terms of Use.

Hi,
I do not see Dr. Heather Moday on this site. Her website says Dr. Heather Moday is a certified ReCODE practitioner trained in the Bredesen Protocol. She is in Philadelphia, PA. I would like to hear from anyone who has done the program with her.

Welcome, Sallywally!

As someone who spent some happy years in the Philly area, it's good to know that you and others have access to a Recode practitioner. We can't claim to have an exhaustive list of ApoE4-aware practitioners, not all of whom may be Recode-certified. What we do offer forum users is this category and these two Wiki Resources to search for practitioners: Searching for a Healthcare Practitioner and ApoE4-Aware Healthcare Practitioners, who have been recommended on the Practitioner Review forum, or who have reached out directly to ask that their information be added to our wiki.

A search using the magnifying glass icon in the upper right by your user name doesn't turn up any mention of Dr. Moday, so you may be the first to alert our members to her.

With thanks to our intern AKA, I'd like to point out a few areas on the site that might be useful and or interesting.

The Primer is an introduction to ApoE4 and possible prevention strategies., written by a doctor who is herself ApoE 4/4

If you'd like to share what brought you to ApoE4.info and any areas you like to hear about from users besides Dr. Moday, feel free to tell us more here or in Our Stories Hope you're not too water-logged from the hurricane rain and storm damage!

Thank you for the information. I'm curious about the practitioners. Why do people have to uncover them? Do you know why Dr. Bredesen doesn't just put the graduates of his program on his website? It seems it would make things much easier for us.

Find a Practitioner

I think there have been practitioner training by Bredesen under the auspices of entities previous to Apollo Health, also.

Such a great question! Initially, his previous company was concerned about advertising rogue physicians, who weren't fully complying with Dr. Bredesen's recommendations and not using the actual ReCODE report. I'm happy to announce that policy will soon be changing and all fully-trained, certified practitioners will be publicly shared following the release of a newly revised and updated practitioner training that will be available mid-September.

Hi,
I was just on the Apollo site and learned there is a practitioner within a few miles of my home. I created an account expecting to see the name. To unlock the name it appears I have to start paying a monthly fee. Does this seem accurate to you or do I misunderstand the site? Thanks.

That is currently true. This closed referral system was created by the previous iteration of Dr. Bredesen's company (MPI) in an effort to prevent practitioners and patients from finding one another and cutting out the services of the company. Apollo Health has steadily loosened that practice and will shortly have a completely open referral system to increase transparency. For now, you can call or email customer service and request detailed information about that practitioner, including specialties and fees. You can also use the find-a-practitioner function on the IFM website and use the advanced search function to find a functional medicine practitioner who specializes in neurodegenerative disorders or do a Google search for "Bredesen-trained" physicians in your area.

I looked up the aforementioned Dr. Heather Moday on her website.
Here are her charges as stated on her site:
"The Better Brain program retail cost is $8,900. The re-testing of ReCODE labs is included in this cost. Patients can also expect to spend about $150+ on supplements per month. Additional functional medicine tests on are not included but may be added on."
"Dr. Heather Moday is a certified ReCODE practitioner trained in the Bredesen Protocol—a unique, integrative approach to treat conditions affecting the brain, including Alzheimer’s disease. This 12 month program is a comprehensive membership that includes medical care, advanced interpretation of functional medicine labs, personalized nutrition interventions, and wellness coaching based on the Dr. Dale Bredesen’s ReCODE Protocol. This program requires enrollment in ReCODE and ReVERSE through AHNPHealth.com." She will not be your PCP.

Is this in line with other Bredesen practitioners?
