I'm in, if chosen day/time work for me!
Re: Calling all Alzheimer's Activists!
I can make any time on that date.
Re: Calling all Alzheimer's Activists!
I know the thread has gotten long and a few folks appear uncertain about the day/time that is being proposed. Tuesday, August 13 is currently our top pick @ 2:30PM PT, 3:30PM MT, 4:30PM CT, and 5:30PM ET. For anyone who can't make that day, please propose an alternate. I'll do my best to either record or have notes taken during the meeting for those who are interested, but can't attend. In the meantime, keep BRAINstorming!

Re: Calling all Alzheimer's Activists!
Just wanted to share some ideas.
I think that we need to create a website. Hopefully this could be inexpensive and we have the skills within our group to do this.
I think a mission statement that includes some endorsements that gives our group some legitimacy. Once we have that format we could call on people within and without our group to share what following life-style changes has done for them - either anonymously or not. We could post a new "Message of Hope" monthly and provide links to research and books that support the lifestyle change approach to prevention and recovery. Additionally we could contact organisations and individuals some that have already been suggested in this thread and ask them to link to our site. In addition to those already mentioned, I believe that there are lots of sites that promote healthy eating, exercise, mediation, supplement sales etc. that might give us a link. Then of course we could have a donate button on the site and see if we could raise funds for other more expensive ideas.

Hey Julie,
Sorry but I can no longer do 4:30 - something got scheduled in that time slot. I also would guess that earlier would be better for our Europe-based folks?
If 4:30 ends up being the time selected that's fine - I can catch up in the notes. But just updating my previous reply.
