There has been some previous discussion about cyclodextrin on the forums:
https://www.apoe4.info/forums/search.ph ... clodextrin
This clearly renews my interest.
Does anyone have access to the full text? I'm going to contact the author.
The following links to an article in Popular Science. Apparently cyclodextrin is used in powered alcohol. See the arterial imaging from the 12-week study. Fascinating.

here is more that was explored at www.heartlifetalk.com

to access 2 pdf files one should signup, we have been exploring the issue for a while there

Thanks for sharing, Schnooks. Thanks also to Chris & Gene for the links. I've long been interested in cyclodexetrin for our population. I still wonder how or if it would affect ketosis...
It almost sounds too good to be true. Two forbidden fruits (sweet stuff in powdered alcohol) that lowers our cholesterol? Make mine cabernet flavored, please

"I still wonder how or if it would affect ketosis..."
I would doubt it as it just locks out saturated fat, the alpha form but certainly is worth trying as it helps BG control too.
Try it a month before doing a nmr lipid profile.

They used apoE-deficient mice:
Not surprisingly, people are considering cyclodextrins for AD:

It's also interesting that they think that Liver X receptor (LXR) reprogramming is the mechanism of action. This has long been researched as an approach for treating Alzheimer's disease, but toxicity problems have stopped it from ever getting traction. To investigate the efficacy of CD treatment in murine atherosclerosis, apolipoprotein E (ApoE−/−) deficient mice were fed a cholesterol-rich diet and concomitantly treated subcutaneously with CD or vehicle control for 8 weeks. Although plasma cholesterol, the main driver of atherosclerosis, remained unaffected (Fig. 1A), CD treatment profoundly reduced atherosclerotic lesions within the aortic root (Fig. 1B)
