Things Here That May Lower Our Amyloid Burden

Post by circular »

Note I put *may* since they may not all help ApoE4? Let's add studies under the items and note what, if anything, the study says about ApoE4. You can add by just copying the post, adding and reposting as the most current:

Whether the reduced AB levels or neurotoxic burden equate with postponing, preventing or treating AD is another question.

It's interesting none of the BA directed drug candidates has worked, the government just poured 10s of 1000s of dollars (100s of 1000s?) into more BA studies.

Even if one or more of these doesn't help ApoE4 in particular, I'm hoping doing them all I'd get some BA benefit somewhere?

Oops, we forgot curcumin!

Or use the wiki, which is designed for this?

Nice start on curcumin, G. We are lucky to have you (and Susan!) working on the Wiki. I think more peeps don't contribute to the Wiki because they are intimidated by the process. FWIW, I'm really grateful for the information we've generated on the site so far. I suspect, in time, we'll get it all organized on the Wiki. THIS topic, for instance, will easily translate. Excellent work, Circular :D

I suppose the thread here is good so those interested can get updates when new info is put in the wiki; ie the wiki poster also adds a note her about it? Double the work, but how else to get notified of a newly added study in this dept? I'm not aware of wiki email updates but I haven't looked? Can a message be stickied at the top of the thread with a link to the relevant wiki page?

Thanks for the acetyl-l-carnitine mention juliegee. A new one to me.

BTW the reason I haven't edited wiki is lack of time to learn and do so, but I hope that will change.
