dementia can come from a mix of different causes. in addition to dealing with apoe4 and progranulin gene status, as well as other genetic vulnerabilities for dementia, we need to monitor iron stores in ourselves as we get older and in our elderly parents and other LOs. anemia is not rare in the elderly or in menstruating women. i have had on and off anemia for years and am experiencing cognitive decline. i hope i have not let permanent damage occur.

Re: monitor iron levels- anemia linked to dementia
A good reminder. A lot of people are keeping iron low while aging but may not be checking to see if they have enough iron. I think I'm becoming a blood test junkie. At least this is one a doctor will usually order (at least in the US).
ApoE 3/4 > Thanks in advance for any responses made to my posts.
