I found magnesium helped with those leg cramps. Either as a supplement or Epsom salts in the bath (with lavender is nice) can help. as well as the salt / potassium mentioned. It is a generally relaxing mineral, apparently.

On the subject of potassium i too find it hard to meet the levels without a supplement but the one I did find (Solgar) the tablets are really big and hard to swallow, also they are quite low dose. There is something about potassium not being great to supplement. I can't remember what though.
