What I found interesting is that it isn't't about sleep apnea (not that that's not an issue), but rather circadian rhythm issues.

Here's the conclusion from the paper:
Conclusions and Relevance Preclinical AD is associated with rest-activity rhythm fragmentation, independent of age or sex. Aging was also associated with circadian dysfunction independently of preclinical AD pathology, particularly in men. The presence of circadian rhythm abnormalities in the preclinical phase of AD suggests that circadian dysfunction could contribute to early disease pathogenesis or serve as a biomarker of preclinical disease.

circ, I don't want to brag... well actually I do.
Here's a massive massive GWAS that found that insomnia does not appear to be positively related to AD.
This seems surprising because I would have thought that beta amyloid would tend to build up in those with insomnia.

I conferred bragging rights on you long ago J11. I was wondering when you would start using them ;)

That's a great find. Wish I had time for a deep dive. Intriguing ...

Why just today I joined a research project when visiting my new sleep doctor. He's collecting spit and blood to do a massive 5000 subject study of genes and sleep issues.
