Dr. Dale Bredesen and others will be talking about brain health during a free online Food Revolution Summit on Sunday April 29 at 11 am Eastern. Here's the schedule: https://cdn.foodrevolution.org/summit/f ... hedule.pdf
You can sign up for the summit here, though I am not sure if it's necessary in order to view it: https://www.foodrevolutionsummit.org/broadcasts/

I was surprised to learn during the Summit that there is synergy between B12 and Omega 3: If your B12 levels are low, you'll be low in Omega 3 too. I think it might apply to me. I really need to get my B12 up higher.

Question: Dr Bredesen just spoke about "APOE4 - or +", and that you should know which you are. What is he referring to? Just how many alleles you have?

I believe he just means whether or not you have the genetic marker "apoe4" that puts you at a higher inherited risk for Alzheimer's disease. Most of us on this site are either 4/4 (two copies, one from each parent) or 3/4 (one copy). Sounds like you already know about this, so a shorter answer is no, I don't think he meant anything about how many alleles, but whether you had any at all.backwalker wrote:Question: Dr Bredesen just spoke about "APOE4 - or +", and that you should know which you are. I hope a recording of this will be made available after the summit. If anyone has found one, please share it here.

if you missed it, there is usually a weekend(most likely May 4-5th) where they replay all the talks and you can just pick Dr Bredesen's to listen to.

Heard Dr. Joel Kahn on this today--and Dr. Bredesen the other day. Was shocked when John Robbins actually used the words "low-mercury fish" while talking with Dr. Bredesen, as this whole summit has a history of carrying a strong plants-only agenda. Dr. Kahn pretty much dismissed Dr. Gundry as a quack--the lectins concern is unfounded, in his view, and people who believe it are hurting themselves by foregoing beans and fruits. (I guess these two docs got into some kind of arguing match on a doctors TV show?) Kahn also was very adamantly against any form of animal product--eggs, ghee, you name it, it'll kill ya . . . or at least give you heart disease and Alzheimer's. How the heck are we supposed to know what to believe when the "experts" don't even agree?!

All we can do is look at the research and arguments and then personally decide what is most convincing. I hate the discrepancies and uncertainties too.How the heck are we supposed to know what to believe when the "experts" don't even agree?!
