We now have a wiki write-up on stress. https://wiki.apoe4.info/wiki/Stress
The wiki had addressed Diet, Exercise and Sleep, but not the 4th pillar: Stress. There is a short write-up on stress reduction in the Bredesen Protocol wiki, but Dr B doesn’t address stress with much detail, so there’s not a whole lot to that write-up. This new wiki article expands beyond the Bredesen Protocol.
I figured I could whip up something on stress pretty quickly -- measure cortisol, do some breathing exercises, take up yoga, no more stress, end of wiki. Right? Boy was I wrong! There’s a lot more to stress than I realized. The write-up doesn’t address everything, but I think I got the most critical points.
I would like to thank spraining my ankle for forcing me to sit on the couch more than usual, it allowed me to dedicate time to finish what I had started a while ago.

Re: Stress
Wow! Thank you Theresa B for this valuable addition to the Wiki!
I LOVE the section on Strategies. I especially love this part "Our genetic material is older than we are. After thriving for millions of years, our DNA has specific expectations for certain foods, (i.e. not recently introduced from an evolutionary standpoint, such as foods native to North America or foods that are genetically modified, see Dr Gundry's Protocol). When fed "unfamiliar foods" our genes don’t react well, they get imbalanced, resulting in health concerns." I've developed the philosophy that I'm an "old school" type of girl and try to keep things simple.
I hope that your ankle is on the mend!

Re: Stress
Theresa, your work is a godsend for me right now and for so many of us. Thank you for diligent work.
Re: Stress
Yes, Thankyou so much Theresa. I know I will be dipping into this from time to time.
Re: Stress
Thank you TheresaB for all the knowledge and advice. A lot of the info about cortisol was new to me. It's very helpful, especially since I have a natural tendency to overdo things (overexercising or fasting for too long). I'm working on finding a good middle ground for myself... Moderation is key
