ZeroWater removes ALL minerals from water (post filtration TDS is 0). Then pure sodium silicate can be added after the filtration?
Can you help me out I am having trouble following this thread. What are you referring to about what the Zero filter would work for? I think you are asking about the silicade recipe. If you are, yes you can start out with water which has been filtered through the Zero filter instead of tap water. The Brita filter is the only filter which can be used during the process of making the silicade as it removes aluminum but does not remove silica. The Zero filter removes silica. Let me know if this answers your question.

Hi Laurie, thank you. Yes I am asking about Silicade. Yes you are correct that the Zero Water would filter silica, but what if the silica is added *after* the filtration?

Yes you can filter your water with the Zero filter before making Silicade just realize as you said because the Zero filter filters out minerals you will end up with only silica in the water you have made. Is that what you are asking?

Braun coffee maker (model KF7000 specifically) has stainless steel tube that transports the water, so presumably no aluminum leaching into the water.

They write:

harpsicon Thanks so much for this information. I wish this company would be put the information on their package. I will add this to my safer alternatives in my daily sources of aluminum.

If you would still like to remove fluoride from your water there is a way to do it without adding aluminum. My husband just completed some research on water filters for filtering fluoride and aluminum. He found bone char is the most effective at removing fluoride. He is now going to make his own bone char filter. Here is the write up he did and the table which is at the end of the document.

Once he makes the bone char filter he will make a video and do a write up. I will post that information here.
