I'm a coffee lover and really enjoy that extra afternoon cup, which I realize may not be wise if I want to prioritize restorative sleep. The study discussion linked below has some interesting observations as to what components of the brew may offer protection from both Alzheimer's and Parkinsons. They note that caffeine is not the driver here, so the decaffenated roasts (dark being best for both) were equally beneficial. Important to point out that the current study was in vitro only, with cell/animal model study underway.
