hi Julie, in Dr. Bredesen' s 1st book I think you mentioned you drank a cup of coffee every morning. Do you still do the same?
I do! Strangely, since starting low dose naltrexone, I've kind of lost my taste for coffee but still faithfully enjoy one cup (sometimes 1.5) but I get up very early in the AM and am finished before 6AM. Coffee makes me feel better, cognitively sharper. The longevity evidence is also pretty compelling.

Thank you for this article. I did not know that dark roast was the best for protection. Good info :idea:

Love this, Plumster! On a slightly different topic, I've learned that I can get the same satisfaction that I used to get from eating junk food (french fries, desserts, and candy) simply by smelling them... and I feel so much better afterwards. :D

Ha ha, or just smell it! ;)

I actually agree with Julie G about smelling bread and pastries.

Regarding smell:
  • alcohol doesn't smell good (to me) so no problem
    coffee I can understand―smells good & can perk me up a little (e.g. being in a coffee shop)
    but bread, pastries, candy―I avoid walking past bakeries bc definitely not the same as tasting!
