Barramundi fish?

Post by bexnews »

Many promote the health benefits of smaller fish for their Omega 3 content (though I know Ray Peat might not). I was looking at the types of food/fish one might be able to grow at home. Has anyone looked at the health of eating Barramundi? Supposedly high on Omega 3s. I know generally you don't want farmed fish. I'm wondering for the right farm though, if Barramundi might be a really good choice?

I suspect that it's too high in mercury, my friend. Read this.

From what I've read about this company, it sounds like testing shows no detectable mercury; and it's produced in a sustainable manner.

Of course the first link will be biased as it is from the company's website! The company started in Turner's Falls MA, now also has opened a production in Vietnam.

The claim sounds like the farmed version might actually be better for you, and more sustainable than wild.

My husband brought this package home from the grocery store and we had it last night. Very good and a nice change. Of course after dinner, I did all the digging I could, not convinced yet that I shouldn't buy it again!
