ApoE, high altitude and white matter hyperintensities

Post by circular »

Sorry this has to be a fly by, but suggests no connection and I thought it might interest our current and former mountain dwellers?

Apolipoprotein E promoter genotypes are not associated with white matter hyperintensity development in high-altitude careers

Sorry, can’t make the link behave.

Thanks, circular. As a former mountain dweller, I appreciate knowing this. My MRI showed white matter hyperintensities, so something else (I suspect mold toxicity) caused them. I now believe that my hypoxia during sleep while living at high altitude was ultimately caused by the mold under my master bath sink, which I discovered when we were getting our house ready for sale.
ApoE 4/4 - When I was in 7th grade, my fellow students in history class called me "The Brain" because I had such a memory for detail. I excelled at memorization and aced tests. This childhood memory helps me cope!
