...and I just have to post these 'cos I'm so proud of them. NOT for an APOe4. Everything bad for us - wheat, sugar, omega6 oil. Phyllo pastry cigars filled with crushed nuts, fried (don't ask what oil it is...) and dipped in melted honey. Made me wheeze and have a migraine for 2 days. But my guests raved. For days.

Oh Stavia, that egg dish looks divine. I will so have to try that!! But......the crusty bread on the side in the link looks yummy and inviting. I know a no-no for us but WOW. I think I can honestly say food has become my "porn" in a way. Pasta, cream sauces, phyllo nut rolls.... An Apoe girl can look right???
I've been experimenting with some great potential almond flour breads but having a problem getting the consistency down. A tricky flour, or could be the altitude I am at or I'm just a crappy baker. Hopefully I can figure it out and post soon.

OMG Stavia I LOVE Ottolenghi's cookbooks. I own Jerusalem and Plenty. I've made many of his recipes and the flavors are outstanding. I'm going to try that salad and yes, I will reduce the honey. I need flavor and I don't like monotony in my food. That is going to be a challenge in my new way of eating. I'm already tired of my fried egg with guacamole and chili sauce. Sometimes I do goat yogurt with blueberries instead.

Yotam's an old army buddy. I think he relies too heavily on sweetness and on the AKB48 effect.
My recommendation for breakfast is coffee.
Meals (we only eat one meal a day, averages about 1600 calories including booze I think, plus the occasional snack or pastry)
Today - wagyu burger with fries.
Yesterday - sushi, sake.
Day before - spanish mackerel and couscous, oysters, a couple of other small dishes, red wine.
Day before - lentils, carrots, leeks, red wine.
Day before - rice with shiso fermented peppers, smoked egg.
Day before - kaiseki meal (too many ingredients to count), red wine.
Day before - too late and too tired - a beer and some grilled fish at the pub.
Day before - Gigantic (4 lbs) oven roasted John Dory, endive, pepper, olive oil. White wine. Man, that was just too much fish.

ApropoE4 - I've spent time in Japan. I ate fish, fish and more fish. Breakfast, lunch, dinner snacks. Nothing but fish. It was excellent fish, but it was certainly monotonous. I could never eat just one meal a day. It sure would simplify my life though.

Here's a light lunch from yesterday: Spicy pastured chicken salad with organic spinach, swiss chard, tat soi, arugala, cucumber, bell peppers, purple onion, jicama, sliced strawberries, and sliced avocado, topped with organic california grown EVOO + balsamic vinegar. Plus a cup of frothy matcha green tea.

Yum. You should be a food stylist or start a blog. Wow that looks good!
