I have some links that appear to be on-topic for this website. I can't find them anywhere else here.
Being new here, I'm not sure what (if anything) to do about them. Please advise.

They are about the proposed RADAR trial, using losartan.

Barry, as someone with mild hypertension, I tried losartan due to the evidence of increased cerebral blood flow. Unfortunately, even the 25 mg dose resulted in a 80/50 B/P & it din't help my Raynauds, so I switched to nifedipine. However as I age, I'm considering adding a half-dose of losartan. We will have to follow this trial/

Thanks for the links Barry. Ii want to check them out! Jan mentioned starting a forum for books but I don't think it needs to be restricted to just books. Links from our community members would also be good. I also ordered Bresden's book that you mentioned initially but didn't know about the other one coming out in January. You are a wealth of information! Thanks! Alma

Here is another book. I have it, (and I've reviewed it at Amazon UK), but I doubt if most people here would be interested in it, at the price!

"Ketogenic Diet and Metabolic Therapies: Expanded Roles in Health and Disease" Jan 2017 by Susan A Masino PHD (Editor)

My review:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/RLQURWO ... 0190497998

There are only two or three chapters (out of 39) that are directly to do with Alzheimer's, and those are not specific to ApoE4. But it is a comprehensive discussion about the topic of its title. It gives me confidence that a ketogenic diet is a good choice for me.

By all means ask me questions about it. But I haven't read it all!

Alma, so that there is no confusion, LadyJane suggested starting a book, research paper, and podcast compilation in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3310&p=39864#p39864

In this thread I've posted some information which has been new to some people. It has been suggested (I think) that I post them in a more accessible/visible place. Which forum should that be in?

Here is something that may also be relevant: the Beers Criteria, or Beers List. This is a list of "Potentially Inappropriate Medication Use in Older Adults". I've searched the forums and Wiki for those terms and I couldn't find them.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beers_Criteria
https://www.dcri.org/wp-content/uploads ... ations.pdf
http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/846136#vp_1

(In 2015, I decided that since I was trying to improve my lifestyle, it would confuse things if I took medication too. How would I know whether good or bad results were a result of lifestyle changes or medication? So I stopped taking prescribed or over-the-counter medication. I have had the flu-jab, and I take a few supplements, but so far I've stayed with this policy. I'm concerned that a well-meaning doctor may prescribe medication for some other condition that might have side-effects that will do me extra harm. I read terrible things about what may be prescribed in care-homes, etc. I want to arm myself with the counter arguments).

Here is a book that arrived today. I guess it is already well-known here:

Barry,

Your intuition and your thoughts have indeed the merit of being listened to. From my point of view, they are present according to your values too.
There is a site that deserves to be discovered if it is not already the case: www.greenmedinfo.com

This site extracts information from pubmed.org and classifies them into diseases, substances, actions, etc ... in a very user-friendly way. In my opinion, it is an excellent site that allows to make very informed choices. Knowing the undesirable effects of some products and the therapeutic effects of others, our choices can be related to both our values and how we want to establish our lifestyle.

Really a great discovery !!!
Thanks Barry for this really useful Beers list: a huge work that needs to be shared to improve our knowledge and choices.
