Dr. bredesen,dr Ross ,dr gundry?

Post by Guest »

Hello all.... I contacted Dr.Ross's office today since she will begin seeing patients in Los Angeles in October. I spoke with a wonderful guy named Stephen who is organizing and making her appointments. Bottom line it is $2750 for a 1 hr pre appt phone consult a2 hr appoint with dr Ross or her associate and a 1 hr appointment with dietician/coach. ...plus additional for lab work and follow ups. I have not made an appointment as I must figure out the finances. Currently I have an appointment set up with dr gundry January 31 and he accepts my insurance. I'm really at a dilemma ... this all being relatively new if any of you have an opinion please share your thoughts. I know they are very different...I'm a 3/4 non symptomatic but want to do the best that I can do for the future. Thank you very much

If it is, let me explain. Mary Kay Ross is a chronic infection/toxicity specialist who sees patients who are symptomatic with type 3 ie inflammation due to toxins. They are ill and their treatment is complex. If you are not unwell or having any cognitive symptoms I am puzzled why you are making an appointment with her?
Gundry is excellent. Its a great place to start. If your bloods are still not optimal once you are on Gundry's programme you could explore other avenues.
If you are currently well there is no reason to panic. it takes most of us at least a year or two to get our programmes in place. Are you perhaps panicking?

Anab Dr Ross is not a first level Bredesen practitioner. She is a specialist who deals with complex issues. That's why she is so expensive.

Hi Anab,

When we learned in 2014 we were ApoE4+ (me 3/4, wife 4/4), looked around to see who had significant clinical experience with ApoE4. Our search led us to Gundry as he's tested all his patients for this for ~15 years. He does run a large suite of labs on all patients, then see's what happens after they implement his suggestions. If you've not seen our posts, we've had 5 consults and have posted redacted labs along with transcripts (thanks to my wife) of our consults (he lets us record them). Though not Bredesen patients, we consider what we do with Gundry as a part of our informal implementation of his protocol. We've also posted what we do in the linked post.

You can do a lot by reading Bredesen's book as well as Gundry's. They are now friends (thanks to JulieGee) and communicate frequently. On our last visit, Gundry told us he'd be testing our pregnenelone at our next visit thanks to his conversations with Bredesen. We've linked a lot of interviews, presentations & podcasts in the same post. Reading their books, then listening/watching to some of the links will give you a good background.

I'd started eating off Gundry's list as modified for E4's prior to our first blood test, but my wife hadn't. Hence we have a before/after for her and can see the reduction in inflammatory markers. Many of my autoimmune issues cleared up or got significantly better quickly after I started eating off his list.

Tin cup thank you for your reply. You have given me exactly what I needed to hear. Sometimes I feel like a moth to a flame. Flying from light to light. It totally makes sense (now) to me to stick with my visit with dr gundry ..like you pointed out he does all the blood tests and much of the protocol. And has been testing and working with APOE for 15 yrs . I must say that is why I sought him out in the first place. And it really is about the inflammation markers. I think sometimes I just panic and don't know where to go. I have been eating very much from pp with a few modifications so it will be very interesting to see where I stand. My appointment is January 31. I've been waiting a couple of months so it feels like it is almost here. Thank you all for talking me through this. Gratitude

I've been trying to get the name of a Bredesen Protocol practitioner through MPI since June 9. The replies we're always that they were updating the list and it would be ready soon. Then on September 6 I received this message: "We are in the midst of developing our new online referral system for MPI Cognition practitioners trained in The Bredesen Protocol. Your request has been saved and we will email you the minute our referral system update has been completed. As a good alternative, our newly appointed CMO Dr. Mary Kay Ross ...is now accepting patients..." She is 5 hours away from me at her Savannah office. However, from reading above, she does not sound right for me. So I'm still patiently waiting to hear of a Bredesen Protocol practitioner near me.
