Just for today -- One positive thought, word, action at a time.

Post by drae »

Today, I...
 • 1. Cooked bug-eating chicken eggs and fixed 3 colors of veggies for my first meal. =)
 • 2. Went out for coffee and games with my housemates (a shameless ploy to get our disabled member out more).
 • 3. Walked my 30 minutes (wearing my blue light blocker glasses) when I got home even though it was after dark.

Someone -- forgive me, I have not yet remembered who -- suggested I start writing down at the end of the day a few of the positive things I have done that day, things that help me with my personal goals to RAD (resist AD) and improve my life. I thought about doing it here. Perhaps there are others who could add theirs, and then others could see just a few small steps are helping us make big progress.

Please forgive me -- and educate me -- if this is not the proper use of this forum. For myself, I am focused on the doing and it is challenging some hours.

My best to all,
Drae

Good for you for making such useful and positive steps. It is nice that one of your steps was to help get one of your housemates out and doing things. Keep up the good work. It makes me happy to hear about your progress.

Drae, support is a big part of our mission, and if writing this down helps, and we can chime in with words of support during those challenging moments, then all is good.

And great job! It's all about the little stuff we can do everyday. And daily gratitude is a helpful reminder of just how many things go right for us, even if they seem insignificant. You got this!

LOL ru442, and I don't know yet. =) You brought back memories. When I was in gradeschool my older brothers would wait until I tilted up my glass to say something geared to make me explode in laughter. Those were the days! Today I like anything that makes me laugh out loud. And bug-eating chicken eggs tickled me too.

Starfish! Love the name!

And, thanks ALL.

I was hoping somebodies, especially perhaps beginners like me or anyone struggling with the doing and forming new habits, would chime in and share a positive moment or two most days.

I've been really busy two days, so I am behind. =) Here goes...

Friday:
 • 2nd Tai Chi class
 • Starting to work on sorting supplements out by best time to take them.
Saturday:
 • Walked my 30 minutes at sunrise in effort to most positively affect my circadian rhythm (which has always had a rhythm of it's own).
 • Joined health insurance free silver sneakers gym membership program which pays for costs at 5 different gyms in town and many classes also.
And, a quote from G. K. Chesterson, one of my faves:

Practice makes progress!

Good on ya'all!

Sunday...

My day off from walking and brain training but generally too full for any *normal* activities like that anyway. Two three-day positive actions:
 • Attended a very special three day church meeting, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Lots of good stuff like peace, joy, God and very special social times.
 • Spent those same three days starting over on reading Stavia's primer.
.

Biggest triumph: I apparently finally re-figured out how to put a link in one of these posts. It had been bothering me since I started here that I could not remember how to do it when I used to use HTML easily from developing web pages. Maybe the brain training, exercise, sleep, supplements and eating better is paying off!

And if there is a more direct way to code the link, someone please let me know.

My best to you all! It's a new week...

Not sure what you did, thought anything that works is great!

What I do is type the word I want to identify the hyperlink with, highlight it and then click URL in the editor tab. So this becomes:

this
with spaces added so you can see the result.

I then type = after the "l" in the first url and put in the link

this

(again with added spaces), which then looks like this when made live by taking out the spaces:
this

Good point. Thanks, Tincup. Yours is cleaner and easier than my desperate effort, and works perfectly. I should have just asked! LOL

Thanks, SusanJ! It makes me think about what I am really doing differently, especially which things are a special addition to my efforts, not all just as simple as *brushed teeth.* LOL
