The enzyme idea for odor is great idea. I will be interested to see how it works. I haven't looked into ones with enzymes. I have some male friends who have the issue of too much perspiration and are having trouble finding an aluminum free product that stops the sweating. Any suggestions let me know.

laurie, I thought of another potential source of aluminum in water? I recently put my Britta filter in deep storage because I was so sick of seeing it on the counter, and started using my refridgerator door water instead. You have me now drinking Fiji water daily, but I drink a lot of water and don't want to have to buy that many liters of Fiji water. So, now I'm wondering if the filter and tubes in the refrigerator door might have aluminum anywhere? What's the best kitchen sink water filtration for aluminum, if you know? Maybe it's been discussed but I can't take the time to read the whole thread

Actually I don't need to filter aluminum since I know my local water doesn't have an issue with it, but I guess I need a filter that won't add aluminum. I guess most would do, but refrigerators might be suspect like coffee makers are.

Great question. My husband hasn't tested any refrigerator door filters. He has tested 2 in home filters and another woman has tested one - all 3 added aluminum to the water. So there is a possibility the filter in the refrigerator will add aluminum. Some filters that filter out fluoride sometimes add aluminum.

Great that your town/city doesn't have aluminum in the drinking water. Another source of aluminum in drinking water comes from cement lined pipes and cement lined storage tanks. Cement contains aluminum which leeches out. Our neighborhood has replaced our cement pipes however a new storage tank was built and we have seen an increase in the aluminum in our water. New cement leeches more aluminum.

I found mine at a local natural grocery store here in Richmond, VA. That said, it looks like it's also available from Amazon. My guess is you could potentially find it at Whole Foods. I'm using both the Herbal Zest as well as the Lavender Vanilla and I think both smell just fine. The essential oils smell seems to dissipate quickly but even if it didn't, I find both to be pleasant. They have 2 other scents as well. I started laying a tile floor yesterday and drove 600 screws into the backer board (very laborious and I was definitely sweating), I didn't get a chance to shower before running out to meet friends for the Superbowl and I WASN'T stinky... I call that success;) Hopefully, it'll work for you as well!

Oops, correction. I found my water testing kit and it didn't test aluminum, I was thinking about copper. Our local water company puts its water quality reports online at the town website, but they don't include aluminum.

In the United States aluminum is considered a "secondary standard" in drinking water and doesn't have to be included in water quality reports. There is a standard for aluminum levels when an aluminum salt is used to coagulate solids when treating surface water. The results of the testing for aluminum levels doesn't have to be reported.

Just a quick question laurie, if I use Fiji water for my covfefe do I lose the benefits from heating it?
