Brain Health and Research Institute opening in Seattle

Post by shenmen100 »

I received an email about a new comprehensive center opening in Seattle with Dr. Mary Kay Ross MD as the director. She worked/s ? closely with Dr Bredesen and she was a co-teacher for the IFM reversing cognitive decline I attended. I am excited to have this resource so close to home.

Does anyone know more about the program or if she is still working working with Dr Bredesen? I also wonder if she will be practicing in Seattle or if this is a second clinical site with other MDs running the practice.

The website shows that there is another physician at the Seattle Institute. My understanding is that Dr Ross will be both in Seattle and at an east coast practice close to Atlanta.

My parents worked with her for about a year starting last summer. At that time, she had split from his program but said she still maintained a relationship with him. Her program was still close to what I read about in Dr. Bredesen's book.

INTRODUCING
THE BRAIN HEALTH AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Prevent. Support. Replenish. Restore.

OPENING SEPTEMBER 1, 2019 IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

We are excited to introduce a revolutionary new enterprise, dedicated to the evaluation, prevention, and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s, dementia, and ALS, among others.

The Brain Health and Research Institute (BHRI) is led by founder and CEO Dr. Mary Kay Ross, one of the country’s foremost experts in the study and understanding of molds, toxins, fungi, and heavy metals as contributors to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's. She has treated over 2,000 patients resulting in their substantial and measurable improvements. BHRI's partner, The Institute for Systems Biology, is a nonprofit biomedical research organization located in Seattle, Washington and is 200 scientists strong. Its co-founder, Dr. Leroy Hood, was awarded the National Medal of Science by President Barack H. Obama and is also a recipient of the Lasker Prize for his work in advancing DNA science.

The Program

The Brain Heath and Research Institute was created by a handful of America's leading doctors and scientists uniting the brightest minds in both fields to create treatment protocols for maximizing patient outcomes.

The center will utilize the most advanced multimodal treatment plans ever devised to address those who have already been diagnosed as having MCI, Early Stage or Mid Stage Alzheimer's. BHRI also offers a separate Prevention Program for those seeking to avoid these devastating diseases. These one-year programs are customized for each individual participant based on comprehensive lab, DNA, and cognitive testing.

These programs require a serious commitment of time and focus from each patient to ensure success. The BHRI Protocol is most successful when patient and practitioner act as a therapeutic team and are united in their quest for restoring brain heath.

BHRI's nationally recognized team includes Dr. Mary Kay Ross, Dr. Kristine Lokken, Dr. Jeremy Whiting, and Kerry Mills, Dementia Coach, in addition to the cadre of deep science experts led by doctors Lee Hood and Jim Heath.

The national Center for Disease Control reports that 48 million plus Americans are highly likely to become Alzheimer's victims in their lifetimes, in addition to the more than 7 million who are already diagnosed.
This is a health emergency.

It was nice speaking with you yesterday. This is an exciting time to be in the field of medicine and equally as exciting for our patients – Brain Health is a growing health crisis around the world, and it is time to change how it is prevented, assessed, and treated!

Why Us?

We recognize that when it comes to brain health time is of the essence - and selecting the right provider is vital.
The major advantages hold over any other practitioners include 1) We have more experience globally addressing cognitive decline using a multimodal approach than any other medical practice - 2) We have a direct research partner that will use our data sets (of patients that consent) for advancing brain research and science. This will allow us to develop the drivers of disease much more efficiently. 3) We have assembled a team of experts that are passionate and experienced in dealing with complex brain health issues.

Our process:

We begin the intake process for all patients with a two day in depth analysis by our clinical team within our Seattle offices. This team is comprised of specialists including physicians, neuropsychologists, dieticians, brain health coaches and exercise physiologists. All of their opinions in conjunction with lab and other testing, will be the basis for our recommendations for the best treatment and/or preventative plan for you. We have developed a number of plans based on the results of these assessments. These options will be presented once we conclude our initial evaluation process.

Prior to being seen in person, we will ascertain all necessary blood labs for interpretation by our doctors. It is our experience that most of these labs are covered by commercial health insurance plans. We will work with you to find the best and most economical option according to your situation.

We will also gather from you any pertinent past medical records and/or prior testing that may have already been done. Our goal is to not unnecessarily duplicate things that have already been performed. Finally, we will conduct a 60-90 minute telephone intake interview with you and one of our physicians to gain a thorough understanding of your past medical history and identify any potential chemical/environmental exposures you may have encountered.

The cost of this entire intake process is $6,500.

We recognize that this is a substantial investment, however we also believe this is the best and most productive option for combatting the progression of symptoms we are all wanting to avoid. It is always better to act as early as possible where brain health is involved.

Attached is a set of new patient forms for you to complete and return to our office if/when you are ready to begin.

Thank you for entrusting us with your care. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I look forward to working with you.
